- Skull A (Deadhead) was introduced in the 1970's and remained basically unchanged for a number of years.
- Skull B, introduced in 1991, used the same design but increased the size of the head slightly. The B variation is available in a number of unique and unusual color variations, some of which were sold by mail-order as "misfit" colors. A clear crystal head version was also available through special PEZ mail in orders. A "colgate" skull is also available, although rare. This one has a complete set of teeth in contrast to the normal mold, which has one missing.
