Variations

  • Skull A (Deadhead) was introduced in 1971 and remained basically unchanged for a number of years.
  • Skull B, introduced in 1991, used the same design but increased the size of the head slightly. The B variation is available in a number of unique and unusual color variations, some of which were sold by mail-order as "misfit" colors. A clear crystal head version was also available through special PEZ mail-in orders. A "colgate" skull is also available, although rare. This one has a complete set of teeth in contrast to the normal mold, which has one missing.
  • Skull C, a completely redesigned version, was released in 2006. This version has black bones printed on a glow-in-the-dark white stem.
