Origin

Feet started appearing in the early 1980's. Before then, dispensers had no feet and would fall over.

Variations

There are three types of feet: thin, normal feet and thick feet.

Thin feet were the first types of feet to be added to dispensers. Thick feet then began to appear. Eventually, the thickness of the foot was standardized into what is now considered to be normal feet.
